Welcome to the official website for the 2008 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium to be held in Boston! IGARSS’08 will be the 28th annual symposium for GRSS and will continue the excellent tradition of gathering world-class scientists, engineers and educators engaged in the fields of geoscience and remote sensing to meet and present their latest activities. Truly an international event, we anticipate over fifteen hundred participants from all over the world to enjoy a week of technical sessions, tutorials, exhibits and social activities. This year's theme of "The Next Generation" defines the focus of the 2008 Symposium on outreach.

With over one thousand papers accepted for oral presentation and an additional one thousand posters, the week will offer a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in geoscience and remote sensing. In addition to the technical sessions and workshops, we have planned a number of social activities and tours culminating in an evening cruise from Boston Harbor to the Port of Salem where we will enjoy an excellent dinner at the Peabody Essex Museum for the traditional Awards Banquet.

Please take the time to explore the website for more details, check on important dates, and keep yourself up to date on recent changes. In the meantime, know that we will be looking forward to seeing you in Boston in July!
